The 2024 Juried Art Exhibition at Ahmad Shariff Gallery is a unique and immersive art experience that you won’t want to miss. The event juried by Ryan Zimmerman, President of the CLMA board of directors, who brought his expertise and discerning eye to the selection process, curated by Brittany Kiertzner, her expertise and discerning eye were instrumental in selecting the talented artists. We are grateful for their contribution to the success of this exhibition.

First Place: Pablo Damas
Pablo Damas is a self-taught artist who has been creating art for over 20 years. His winning piece, "Beautiful Decay," is a acrylic painting that explores the beauty in the imperfect. The piece is a reflection of his personal journey and the struggles he has faced along the way. Pablo's work is a testament to the power of art to heal and inspire.
Second Place: Brittany Kiertzner
Brittany Kiertzner is a contemporary artist who specializes in abstract paintings. Her winning piece, "You Sleep/ Senta," describes the physical presence of Indigenous women shaping the future. Kiertzner depicts the symbols of not only of their struggles but also their emotional endurance through inclusion of portals of release. The optical mixing of fiber as brushstrokes echo the inevitable social pressures and work to illustrate the creation emerging from disintegration and impermanence.
Third Place: Jackie Leishman
Jackie Leishman is a collage artist who uses both traditional and non-traditional materials, including fragments of old projects, to explore the dichotomies she witnesses. Her winning piece, "The Peace of Wild Things V" is a mixed media artwork that captures the grace and beauty of movement. Jackie's work is a tribute to the human spirit and the power of the arts to inspire and uplift. Her work has been shown nationally, and she has won awards for her art.

Adeola Davies-Aiyeloja: Adeola is an abstract artist who uses vibrant and colorful strokes to express her identity and culture through her paintings.
Ahmad Shariff: Ahmad is a graduate from the Institute of Art, Lebanon, specializing in architectural art and graphic design for over two decades. His work is inspired by his personal journey and the challenges he has overcome.
Andrew Bentson: Andrew is an oil painter who specializes in landscape and abstract art. His work showcases the beauty and majesty of nature in different settings and seasons.
Ernest J.T. Martin: Ernest was a painter who worked with bold and colorful hues to create works of art that explore themes of identity and culture. He mixes realism and abstraction to convey his vision and message.
Gorman Bentley: Gorman is a queer abstract artist who creates intricate and beautiful compositions that explore the human relationship in a non objective form. He uses shapes, lines, and colors to create dynamic and expressive pieces.
Jim Balderrama: Jim is a mixed media artist who experiments with collage and watercolors. His work explores themes of identity and culture, often incorporating elements from his Mexican heritage.
John MacLean: John is a sculptor who works mainly with stone as his medium. He creates intricate and beautiful sculptures that explore the human form in various poses and expressions.
John Woodcock: John is a monoprint artist who works with bold and colorful prints that explore themes of identity and culture. He uses various techniques and materials to create unique and original prints.
Kamelyta: Kamelyta is an abstract artist who works with vibrant and colorful paints to create works of art that explore themes of identity and culture. She uses geometric and organic shapes to create contrast and harmony in her paintings.
