NATE MCMULLEN
In the vastness of my mind’s imagination, I find myself lost in the infinite. Yet with each brushstroke, I rediscover my essence. Forever striving to capture the eternal dance of love, faith, and existence. My art is a sanctuary where chaos finds calm, and every horizon whispers the stories of our souls.

A native of Southern California, Nate McMullen grew up in Huntington Beach and Chino. The vibrant ocean life and brightness of Huntington Beach, the warm sunsets and rural landscapes of Chino, and the desolate deserts he has hiked have greatly influenced his art.
Nate began painting with pastels at the age of eight, and painting has been a lifelong passion ever since. His current focus is on landscapes (including ocean, desert, and sunsets) and surreal subjects with themes relating to religion, love, and existentialism. He primarily works with oil and acrylic on canvas.
Nate has always felt minuscule compared to the grandness of nature, and he strives to portray this feeling in his work. Just like the ocean, these places in his mind bring a sense of calm to the chaos of life. He hopes that when someone gazes upon one of his works, they too can find solace and tranquility.
Nate McMullen’s artistic journey is deeply personal and evocative, drawing inspiration from his grandmother, Mary Dittemore. An accomplished artist herself, Mary quickly became Nate’s muse, infusing his work with a profound sense of heritage and emotional depth. Each painting in his series “What is it to be Human” reflects this intimate connection, weaving a love story that transcends generations.
