ELISA ARANCIBIA
“I paint with my heart and soul, inspired by the beauty and diversity of California. I love to explore different places and capture their light and atmosphere with my oil paints. Painting is not only my passion, but also my way of expressing myself and connecting with others.” - Elisa Arancibia

Elisa Arancibia is a Peruvian painter who discovered her passion for art at an early age. She took art classes throughout high school and graduated as a teacher in Peru in 1990. After her graduation, she started studying at the Museum of Art of Lima (MALI), where she learned from various masters and mentors.
For me, painting is a necessity, like breathing, eating, and existing. My paintings are the compilation of sketches from life and from my imagination, backed up by photographs and memories. They are a dialogue between the observed and the remembered, the planned and the surprise that happens on the canvas. They are the starting point for the exciting process of painting, which is as much about imagination and experience as about the rendering of specific landscape locations.
Light is the main focus of most of my paintings, but I also love to depict water as I enjoy the way in which light is reflected and the patterns created by the ripples. Painting in a variety of subjects matters-landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes, people, nature, animals, etc. My goal is to paint with freshness, energy, and expression.
