The Skin of the Land
107 Harvard Avenue North, Claremont, CA, USA
August 3rd 2024
The title of the exhibition draws inspiration from a memorable experience Jackie Leishman had several years ago while hiking in Kolob Canyon within Zion National Park. During that hike, she encountered a man from Tennessee who made an annual pilgrimage to the western United States specifically for its breathtaking landscapes. When asked why he preferred the West over the beautiful mountains back East, he replied, ‘Because out West, I can see the skin of the land.
